Trip Ideas

Our 1 year anniversary is coming up soon (May 22nd) and we want to celebrate! Besides eating the top tier of our cake (which is probably what we're most excited for) we want to take a little weekend trip. Now the question is, where!?

 Since I can't take off of work, it probably needs to be no more than 3-4 hours away from Atlanta. We usually do the beach thing, so I'm kind of wanting to do something a little different for this trip. Doug would go to the beach for every vacation for the rest of his life and be perfectly happy, but I like to mix it up a little. I have been dying to go to Europe again, but since that won't happen any time soon, I need something to fill the void!

Here are our ideas so far:
Charleston, SC
(it's a longer drive but it's also one of my favorite cities)

Cherokee, NC
(since we can't go to Vegas...has anyone ever been? We don't know what it's like at all.)


Helen, GA
(I've never been here either)
So what do y'all think? Any suggestions?

    We just got back from our anniversary trip to Charleston and it was gorg! That's my vote :) I can't believe it's almost been a year for y'all too!

    For our one year last year we went to Savannah and it was perfect! We had plenty to do the weather was good not to humid. I vote Charleston if Savannah is not your thing. I absolutly love Charleston we go every year!!

    I have no idea which to pick - I've never vacationed in Georgia before! But, I have heard gorgeous things about Savannah; that's where my parents are spending their anniversary this year!

    You'll have a great time no matter where you go! :) Have fun deciding!

    Don't go to Helen. Unless you like hiking. There is a river you can float down on tubes but last time I went it was too shallow and my butt scraped along the bottom! I think y'all would get bored staying there for an entire weekend. I would go to Charleston!

    I say either Charleston or Savannah. Both are fun with lots to see and do. Can't wait to hear what yall decide!!

    What about Ashville, NC and go to the Biltmore?? Its sooo beautiful!! I LOVE going and there is lots of other stuff there to do!

    I vote Charleston! Great food and such a beautiful city.. Love the rooftop bars and nice hotels. I've been to Cherokee and it was a letdown. Asheville would be a great trip also.

    Not sure you could do a weekend in Helen...but there's always Nashville! It's close by:)
