Beach Bums

I never thought I'd live this close to the beach, but it seems like all of Doug's dreams have come true! We live about 15 minutes from this beautiful ocean, and yesterday we took advantage of it. We went to Little Corona del Mar, a small, secluded beach in Newport.

They have 'tide pools' there, which is basically tons of rocks with water and all kinds of sea animals scattered around in them. We climbed all over them and found some pretty cool stuff!

There were hundreds of hermit crabs.

And then we found the starfish jackpot. We probably saw 15 HUGE ones of all different colors! See the three on the rock all clumped together?

Here's a red one:

And a purple one

After our exploring, we retired back to our chairs and looked out at the gorgeous view.

And that's when I spotted dolphins!! There were at least 6 of them swimming together and they were so close to shore! Naturally, I started shouting like a child and made sure everyone on the beach was aware of the dolphins.

After all of that excitement, we came home, loved on Maisy and Pep, and grilled some chicken.

It was a wonderful Sunday! Hope y'all's weekends were just as lovely :)
