My Week with Mom (Part 1)

It's almost been a month since my mom was here, so I need to get these posted before I forget everything! She came out for her spring break, and we had THE BEST time. Seriously, we were kind of nervous because everything was going too perfectly. It was such a wonderful week!

We started out the week by heading up to Burbank for the Ellen show taping! Beforehand, we ate at Bob's Big Boy...a landmark in Burbank and so delicious!

The Ellen show was amazing. Out of all the tapings I've been to, I have to say that this is my favorite! We somehow lucked out with front row seats and got to see Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Andrew Garfield (The Amazing Spiderman), and Mo Isom, a girl I actually went to elementary and high school with! (She tried out for the LSU Football team) It was so crazy that she was there the same day we were!

Ellen is just as wonderful and nice as she seems, and Portia was in the audience as well! Apparently she comes to most of the tapings...so sweet :) It was so much fun!!

Afterwards, we tried out Pink's hotdogs. Holy deliciousness.

And we stopped by Crumbs on the way home for some cupcakes! (These are my favorite cupcakes ever by the way!)

The next day, we headed right back up to Burbank for the Warner Bros Studio Tour! I have been dying to do this since we moved here, and it did not disappoint!

My all-time favorite shows are FRIENDS, Grey's Anatomy, Gilmore Girls, and Pretty Little Liars....and 3 of the 4 happened to be filmed here! (Grey's is not) Rosewood and Stars Hollow are the basically the same and they used the same houses!

This is Luke's Diner!!! (Gilmore Girls)

Miss Patty's Dance Studio (GG)

Rosewood High School! (PLL)

This house was pretty cool because it combined all 3 shows! It was Ross and Monica's parents' house, Lane Kim's house (GG), and Emily's house (PLL)

The stairs where Ross decided to take Rachel to prom!

The kitchen where Monica chopped off Chandler's toe :)

Suki's house is connected to Lorelei's house on the back!

The gazebo from Stars Hollow

Lorelei's house!

I was pretty excited....and maybe a little bit geeky about this :)

I think this was Toby and Jenna's house

This is what they use for any Central Park scenes...like when Rachel and Phoebe went jogging!

The FRIENDS soundstage

Austin Powers' car

General Lee

The Hangover car!

Then...the highlight of the tour! We got to go inside Central Perk!!

Pretty Little Liars was actually filming on this day but unfortunately I didn't see anyone...they were filming on this soundstage though!

My mom and I had tickets to the Voice taping that day but decided not to go since over half of the audience is standing only. I do love that show though!

The tour was really great and I highly recommend it! I'd heard from many people that it's the best studio tour, and I'd have to agree!

Afterwards, we headed over to Westwood for my favorite pizza ever at Palomino. I went here with Ashley and Britney for my birthday and had been craving it ever since! This time we got the pomegranite margarita, pepperoni pizza, and the most amazing gorgonzola fries. I'm already dying to go back! And after this we walked over to Diddy Riese for some ice cream cookie sandwiches. What can I say, we ate goooood that week!

Part 2 coming tomorrow!

  5. I can't believe this is only PART of that week. ALL OF THIS IS SO AWESOME. First, I watched that episode of Ellen (of course) and I can't believe that girl went to school with you! So weird!

I can't even begin to comment on the food because...wow. I want all of it.

You walked on the hallowed ground. Central Perk. At my college, everyone names their houses with big signs and I lived on Central Avenue with 7 other girls. Our house was named Central Perk (and someone even stole our house sign!). I would have laid on the ground and refused to leave until Chandler showed up...or Ross. I'm not picky. ;)
