Ellen

I'm finally sitting down to write about our time at Ellen! First, a lot of people have asked me how I got these tickets- it's so easy! You can request them on her website, but keep in mind that they go FAST. This was the 3rd date that I requested, so I recommend checking the site everyday to ensure you get tickets!

Once we got to Burbank, Michaela and I grabbed some lunch at an adorable Italian restaurant down the street then headed over to check in at Ellen. We got pulled aside by two adorable girls who worked for the show, and they asked us if we'd be interested in doing a 'focus group' AKA would we want to be on the show. Michaela said no but I nervously said yes! So they brought a group of 14 of us to this little trailer and prepped us in case they chose us for the games! Through the entire process, I was SO nervous because I just wasn't sure if I wanted to be called up. But I went along with it and made a friend named Helen in the meantime. She was adorable and I just knew they would call her!

They escorted our little group to the studio and had our friends waiting for us there. We got to go into the studio first, and somehow Michaela and I got front row seats! Felicity Huffman was the guest, and my friend Helen got called up to play a game with them! I was very relieved it wasn't me :) We did see ourselves on TV though!

Michaela's friend works in the styling department for the show, so she took us on a backstage tour after the show! It was such a fun day!

The next day was our time at the Women Tell All taping which airs TONIGHT! It was definitely my favorite taping to date, and I can't wait to see what all they air tonight. It was a 6 hour taping, and they have to edit it down to 2 hours. My opinion of one girl definitely changed after seeing her (not in a good way!) so I'm interested to her what y'all think after seeing it, too!

Sparkle

I'm in LA for the next couple days...

Seeing this girl

this girl

and these girls (plus the guy!)

Michaela and I are going to a taping of The Ellen Show today, and the Women Tell All (Bachelor) taping tomorrow!

All I can say is, Tierra better be there because I'm dying to see her sparkle!

This Is THE VOICE!

I meant to post this weeks ago, so now I don't even remember what month this all happened in! Maybe November? :)

I was so happy when Michaela moved to LA for school this past year. We have had so much fun together already! We went to a taping for The Voice together and had the best time, despite it being about -20 degrees in the studio. Seriously, if you ever go to a taping for it, WEAR A PARKA. Luckily, one of the audience producers took pity on us and gave us his jacket, but we were still shivering all night while shoved in a jacket together :) It was a sight!

The episode we went to was when the top 12 performed, and honestly they sounded even better live. That night was when Cassadee Pope became my favorite, and I'm so glad she won! Pictures aren't allowed in the studio at all, but the audience producer snuck one with his phone for us anyways :) It's terribly blurry, but you can at least tell it's us!

A couple weeks later, we met up for dinner at our favorite place in Westwood, Palomino. Michaela shares my love for their gorgonzola fries and pomegranate margarita :)

Twins in reverse!
Note to self: IRON.
Afterwards, we headed to another one of our favorites- The Grove!

We walked outside of a store to find that it was SNOWING! (Fake snow, obviously!) I flipped out and was way more excited than the kids running around. It was so beautiful!

Michaela, I'm so glad you are in LA now! And I think we're overdue for another round of gorgonzola fries and pomegranate margs :)

Safari Park Blate

Doug and I recently met up with Katie, from Katie Lately, and her hubby Zach! Katie and I found each other last year and realized that her husband is from my hometown (and went to the same high school as my mom!) We immediately hit it off and eventually met at a meet-up in February. Since then, we've been talking about a double date at the Safari Park in San Diego! We finally made it happen and had the best time!

You can barely see him, but there was the most precious baby gorilla there. He was tiny!

One thing that I find hilarious...Doug seems to be under the impression that all blog friends are weird. But after he has met every single one of them (and their husbands)? He always acts surprised at how great and normal they are. It just makes me laugh and say "See! Bloggers are awesome!"

Katie and Zach, you are no exception to this...we absolutely loved hanging out with y'all! And I cannot wait to see sweet baby Bennett! :)

The Sun Comes Up Over Santa Monica Boulevard

Ah! I am so behind on blogging! I have so much to write about, but right now, life is C-R-A-Z-Y. I'll go into more detail later, but for now, I can tell you that we are moving out of our house in less than 3 weeks and we're not exactly sure where, or even what state or country we're going to live. Yeah, crazy.

So I'll try to play catch-up on the last few weeks! A couple weeks ago, Doug told me on a Friday morning that he was taking me on a surprise date that night! That sweet boy took me to the Norah Jones concert at the Hollywood Bowl. It was so perfect!

The next day, we drove back up to Santa Monica to explore the area and to have lunch with Britney and her husband, Marco. I'm really going to miss these two when we leave California!

After lunch, Doug and I walked around Third Street Promenade, a great area in Santa Monica with tons of shops and street performers.

And then we made our way to the Santa Monica Pier. LOVED this place.

So I don't have many pictures of just me, because I feel SO AWKWARD in front of the camera alone. I don't know how you fashion bloggers do it! Here's a perfect example of this awkwardness that Doug captured.

At least we got one where it doesn't look like I'm being tortured :)

We ended the day by driving up and down the PCH, enjoying Malibu and the lovely coast. Doug drove while I hung out of the window like a giddy dog, just taking it all in :)
