Football is BACK!

That's right ladies, College Football is BACK!!!!! This is absolutely my favorite time of year. I can't get enough!

My favorite moment in Sanford Stadium

Have I mentioned how much I miss Knowshon?
We love it so much that had some wedding pictures taken at UGA! Photo by Studio B Photography (an amazing Atlanta photographer!)

I have my fantasy draft tonight to kick it off right, so every Saturday for the rest of the year, you can find me on the couch, screaming at the TV. It will be glorious! :)

Are You Ready For Some FOOTBALL!

Fall is my favorite season for so many reasons...

The clothes

The weather

The food

And most of all...
the FOOTBALL!

(my favorite moment ever in Sanford Stadium)

We have the cutest mascot....you can't argue with that!

This weekend will be filled with good food, lots of football, and screaming at my fantasy players. I can't wait!

GO DAWGS!!

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 19 & Weekend Recap

We had a busy but fun weekend! On Saturday, we headed over to Athens for the game with the in-laws! It was a great game, and I even got to see Suzanne!

And on Sunday...

Pins for Pups = Success!!

It couldn't have gone better! We had about 50 people come out, and everyone had a great time bowling! (As you can tell by Suzanne's face/thumbs up!)

Two days in a row! Love it!

We brought some of the dogs out, so everyone could meet them! Meet Maisy. This little lady stole everyone's heart, including mine. You may think she is sticking her tongue out at you, but her lip just gets stuck on her teeth all the time. Cutest thing ever. Oh yeah, she also gives hugs. I want her.

This is little Ella...what a cutie!

My sweet hubby came to support me...and even helped us by being our emcee for the door prizes!

I was pretty excited about the door prizes/raffle. I went around to a lot of businesses in Loganville and asked if they could donate anything, mainly giftcards. I ended up getting:
$25 to Walmart
$20 to Lowe's
$10 to Kroger
2 $5 Bassano's Pizzeria Giftcards
4 Free Sub Coupons to Jersey Mike's
I also made a Doggie-basket, full of toys, treats, food bowls, etc.
Lindsey got a cute purse and a $5 giftcard to Starbucks!
All of these contributors were so great to work with, thank you!!!

My mom was in a bowling league when I was younger, so I was under the impression that she was really good (She had her own ball & shoes...if you are that legit, you have to be good!) Boy, was I wrong! She struggled at first, but her inner pro came out towards the end! Look at that form! :)

My sweet family came out to support me/Bliss! Thank you!!

Lindsey and me! We made a great team, and we are thinking about hosting another event in the Spring!

It was definitely a successful event, and we ended up raising over $500!!!!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out!!

And now for something not as happy....
Something You Miss

I think two things that I'm really missing right now are:

Being close (location-wise) to everyone I love...family, friends, and pets, of course!

Working.

The Worst Game Ever

Friday night, Doug and I headed to Augusta to see one of our favorite couple friends, Lesley Anne and Kyle! LA and I lived together for the last 2 years at UGA, and we have had many fun double dates together! We were also in each other's weddings this year :) So we were very excited to finally see them!
We ate pizza, watched football, and caught up with each other on Friday night. We were up bright and early on Saturday and headed to Columbia, South Carolina. My brother, a Clemson alum, has always called Columbia "the armpit of America" and I have to say I agree with him. I was not a fan. Apparently, there is ONE road that leads to the stadium, where the traffic stands still for miles. So we had about a 2 mile walk each way to the stadium. This wouldn't have been so bad had it not been blisteringly hot and HUMID!
We made it to the game and found our seats, where there were both UGA and USC fans around us. As most of you probably know, UGA looked U-G-L-Y! It was bad. And depressing. And annoying that these silly chickens were yelling at us. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the yelling. This was my first away game, and I knew that I might not like it because of all the harassing. They were MEAN! Some guy called us dog s***! I couldn't believe it!
During the game, it rained, which actually felt really good because it was so hot out. Then it stopped and the whole stadium smelled like sweaty people/wet dog. Yuck. The worst part was the guy in front of me. He was a jerk who would stand on the bleacher right in front of me (everyone else was standing up, but just on the ground, not the bleacher). His back was literally inches away from my face, so I couldn't see a thing. I asked him nicely for a while to please not stand on the bleacher, but he was too drunk to be reasonable. He even fell over on the people next to him. Oh, if I was a Jersey Shore girl, I would have decked him.

Sorry if my venting was a bit negative! Besides the game, our weekend was so fun! I have started volunteering for a non-profit pet rescue in Loganville, and I absolutely ADORE it. I worked at an adoption event in Conyers on Sunday afternoon (a post on that coming soon!). Then Sunday night, we went to the Braves game with my parents. Sadly, that was also a terrible loss! But we did have fun with family, and we even got to hang out with Doug's dad who was also at the game!
You might have noticed that my hair is about 5 inches shorter. On Friday afternoon, about 2 hours before we left for Augusta, I was watching Grey's Anatomy and I loved Izzy's short hair. I decided I wanted my hair to look like that, so I called the local salon and took the first open appointment they had! An hour later, I had a nice new haircut!

Glory, Glory!

Isn't this a beautiful sight?

Doug and I were soooo excited to go to the first game in Athens this year. We were even more excited by what a blow-out it was!

And I got to see my long, lost friend Suzanne! I forgot to take a picture with her, so here's one from a few years ago!

After the game, we were hot, burnt, and tired. We wanted to watch more football but desperately wanted to lay down. Then Doug had the brilliant idea of bringing the spare mattress (that we have been using as curtains in our bedroom) into the living room! We have been without a couch for probably a month now, and we are going to use Doug's parents' couch that matches the chair in this picture, but we figured we might as well wait until we move to get it from their house.

Haha I just re-read that and realized how hick we must seem, by using a mattress as curtains and having a random mattress/bed in the living room. I guess I should explain the mattress/curtain situation. We bought the mattress from Doug's good friend, Kenny, and we plan to use it in our guest bedroom. The only problem is, we don't have a guest bedroom yet! We are also waiting to buy curtains until we move, so we figured, hey, a mattress will cover the window! Free curtains!

Ahh I can't wait to move and really set up house!

In the past few weeks, Doug has really started to bond with Pepper. This is Doug's first cat experience, and I knew that he would fall in love with Pep. Here are my 2 boys being so sweet!

Doug also made Pep a fort, and he absolutely loves it! He put 2 blankets over our coffee table. Pep sleeps in there all day and loves to bring toys or other objects he finds in there (like Doug's UGA class ring and lots of pencils that he steals :)

Sometimes Pep thinks he is smaller than he really is.

The view from inside the fort

Doug is not as small as he thinks he is either :)

Our Labor Day was so relaxing. We went to the pool, played lots of board games (we love any game or competition!), and grilled out some chicken!

YUM!

The Pink Ladies

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL!?!?

Yes. It is time for fantasy football! This will be my 3rd year. The first year, I was undefeated until the championship game, when all of my players suddenly decided that they were tired of scoring me many points. Doug beat me, and I was not happy! The second year, I stayed undefeated throughout the entire season and beat all the boys! So this year, I have a reputation to maintain.

I wasn't quite as prepared as I usually am for my draft (okay, I forgot about it until the night before) but I managed to get a pretty decent team with a few all-stars. And, of course, there was plenty of trash talk going on in the draft.

Here's the line-up:

QB: Brandon Weeden (OKST) and Kellen Moore (BST)- these two will probably rotate depending on who they play each week

RB: Mark Ingram (AL), DeMarco Murray (OK)- my all-stars

WR: AJ Green (UGA), DeVier Posey (OHST), Markeith Summers (MS), Tramain Swindall (TXTECH)

TE: Dwayne Allen (CLEM)

K: Blair Walsh (UGA)

DST: Southern Cal and North Carolina (especially excited about this one!)

If you are wondering about the title of this post, The Pink Ladies, well...that is my awesome team name. I just wanted a name that screams "YOU GOT BEAT BY A GIRL!" to all the guys in my league. I think this does the job pretty well.
