Merry Christmas from the Mintons!

Merry Christmas! Here's this year's Christmas card- the only time we've taken a picture of all 5 of us! Thanks Mom for being a great photographer (and knowing how to get Maisy's attention!)

And here's the card in our Christmas Card Scrapbook! I'm loving this year's page!

In other exciting news, Katie and I are hosting a year-in-review link up, called Taking Stock 2013! More details to come soon, but I think the link up will be January 1st or 2nd.

I hope y'all have a wonderful Christmas with the ones you love most!

Atlanta, I Love You

I'm finally writing about our wonderful trip home to Atlanta for Thanksgiving! I just love that city, and all of the people there.

A few of the things we did:

-I went to my high school's football game with my best friend Rachael.

-I took a big risk and got side bangs!

-We went to the UGA basketball game and football game against Tech (post on that tomorrow)

-I had dinner with my girls Suzanne and Rachael (didn't take a picture, so here's one from last year)

-Had lots of quality time with our family. We're so lucky that both of our families live in the same town!

-We met our sweet new nephew Bo. LOVE him!

-And my mom and I decorated my parents' house for Christmas!

My Funny Valentine

I consider myself a simple girl. My parents laugh every time I say this...I'm not sure why? :) But I enjoy the little things. For example, my perfect date is dinner and a movie. I would probably choose Chili's over any fancy restaurant. (You can't judge unless you've had their chips and salsa...it's life-changing!) And I prefer Reese's to any other fancy chocolate. So we had ourselves a simple Valentine's Day, and it was perfect.

Doug also knows that the key to my heart is through my fur babies. So of course, they were included in the V-Day gifts. I walked into the kitchen to find this:

Breath mints, for Maisy, from Maisy to us :)

Reese's and scratch off lotto tickets. Perfection :)

Not pictured: he also got me a card with boxers on it :)

We don't like to go out on Valentine's Day, since it is SO crowded everywhere and usually crazy expensive, so we went out on Sunday. For our date, we went to Cheesecake Factory (Kahlua cheesecake...YUM) and saw The Vow. It did not disappoint!

So tonight, I decided to cook Doug's favorite meal. Chicken fingers, fries, and garlic bread :) The fries and bread were frozen, but I'm proud to say I made the chicken from scratch! That's a big feat for a non-cook like me!

I hope y'all had a great V-Day as well! :)

Home for the Holidays

Okay, here's a little recap of our trip home. We celebrated Thanksgiving on Thursday, and since we'll be with Doug's family this year for Christmas, we had my family's Christmas on Friday! (Then on Saturday, we celebrated my Mamaw's birthday, which is New Year's Eve...but there will be a separate post for that!)

For Thanksgiving, we had 16 people come to my parents' house, including our good family friends, the McCleskeys. Since there are so many of us, we turn our pool table/ping pong table into a dining table! And since my mom's tablecloths are about 24 years old, she agreed to let me re-do the table decor! Okay, enough talking...
