Bark in the Park

*I don't think I ever shared the results of Maisy's surgery on here- it was cancer, but we caught it early so they were able to remove it all during the surgery! We are so thankful!*

Since Maisy's birthday was pretty crappy (because of her surgery), we figured taking her to the annual Bark in the Park at Dodger Field would make up for it. We went to the same event at Turner Field in Atlanta right before we moved, and she had a blast at both! However, she is still a Braves fan at heart, so she represented them well amidst all of those Dodger dogs :)

I love this picture...I wish it had been zoomed out more!

The best part of the day was the Pup Parade. We got to walk around the field!

Maisy was smitten with the girl next to us. She inched closer as she ate her nachos :)

Rescue

A little update before I get to today's post...

Yesterday was Maisy's birthday and unfortunately, she had to have surgery. I found two lumps, one on top of the skin and one underneath, and sure enough, our vet wanted to immediately take them off. The one on her elbow looked okay, but he thinks that the lump in her chest is a mast cell tumor, which is cancerous. We won't know for sure until the pathology report comes back in a few (torturously long) days, but we appreciate any prayers for our sweet girl. We've only had her for 2 years, and I'm just not ready to let her go.

-------------

As you all know by now, I love animals. They are truly my passion, and it just breaks my heart to know how many sweet animals are without homes. All 3 of our babies are rescues, and honestly, I couldn't ask for better pets. They have blessed our lives immensely.

So here's the point of this post: if you're in the LA area and are thinking of adding a furry friend to your life, there is a huge adoption event this weekend! Here are the details:

NKLA ADOPTION WEEKEND
MAY 3-5 @ LA BREA TAR PITS
(5801 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA)
Open at 11 am each day
Free event. All shelter adoption fees $99 or less. Fees include spay/neuter and vaccinations.

I used to volunteer at these events when we lived in Atlanta, and it is such a rewarding experience to see these animals find loving homes! Not much makes me happier than that :)
