2011 in Review

I feel SO far behind with blogging...writing and reading! So let's just jump right back into it, shall we?

Last year, I did a Top 10 in 2010. But since I didn't have quite as many huge events this year, here are the highlights of 2011.

JANUARY

I got a job.

I got involved with Share the Dress.

FEBRUARY

We moved into our new apartment in Decatur.

We got the swine flu.

MARCH

I decided to start working out...and it lasted 2 days.

APRIL

I obsessed over the Royal Wedding

MAY

We took Maisy to Bark in the Park.

Doug graduated from his MBA program.

Pep turned 4 (Cutest pictures EVER in this post)

I started Wedding Week (but never finished it) and we celebrated our 1st anniversary (which I still haven't posted about...it'll be up before our 2nd anniversary...hopefully)

JUNE

I did my first (and only, so far!) vlog.

I decided once again to start exercising. I think I lasted about 3 days that time.

JULY

We found out we're moving to California.

We took a family trip to Raleigh and visited the Farmer's Market.

AUGUST

We went on the big road trip from GA to CA.

I finally got to meet one of my favorite blog friends, Megan!

SEPTEMBER

I went to the finale taping of Bachelor Pad. More thoughts about it here.

I started my Fur Baby Friday guest series.

My Mamaw was diagnosed with cancer and I went home to see my sweet family.

OCTOBER

Doug completed his first Warrior Dash.

We celebrated Doug's 25th birthday.

Our family (pets included) dressed up for Halloween.

NOVEMBER

I went to a Jimmy Kimmel taping with some sweet blog friends, and I attended another SoCal blogger meet-up in San Diego.

I went home for Thanksgiving and got to see lots of new and old friends, including Ashley!

DECEMBER

We celebrated Mamaw's 80th birthday.

Doug and I took a romantic gondola ride.

We spent Christmas with Doug's family in Mississippi and New Year's with my family here in California. Post to come for those!

-------

2011 may have been the best and worst year of my life. It was full of happiness, but there were several very difficult things that I'm hoping will be resolved in 2012, specifically, the health of two of my favorite family members.

As for my resolutions? Be healthier, be happier, and have more fun. Cheers to that!

  4. You had a lot of big things happen this year! Looks like we both moved a couple days drive from our families And I am jealous that you got to go to the Bachelor Pad Taping! That would have been interesting. I agree that it was horrible they made Michael wait to find out about the engagement.

  14. It sounds like 2011 was definitely a roller coaster year! But I'm happy you had some good times too {minus the cat catching on fire...terrifying!}. Here's to a fabulous 2012, and many more blogger get togethers!

  15. I'm predicting that you're going to have an awesome year. Just saying.

Also, thank goodness you're back. I was about to alert the authorities...which is actually code for text you.

By the way, that picture of you and Maisy kills me. Too unbelievably cute.

  17. Aw cute! It was fun looking through your year and your year in blogging! It reminded me I had a question I have been meaning to ask you but kept forgetting!! When you moved across the country with the pets, how did you keep your cat so calm in the car! and how did you keep him from potentially going to the batroom in the car? Did you put him on a leash and walk him at rest stops? haha. We may be moving soon with our cat, so any advice you have, we will take!!
