Home

So, I'm in Atlanta. I guess I'll go back a few weeks to explain why.

You may have noticed that I have been a little MIA around here. I haven't posted much, and when I have, they've been "fluffy," not talking about what's really going on in my life. Well, if you're new here, my mom was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last summer. In the past few weeks, she has started preparing for her yearly scan/treatment. At the same time, she got sick and it's only gotten worse and worse. I have just been really sad lately that I wasn't able to be there for her and take care of her.

I was at work yesterday morning when I found out that she had gotten much worse. So I left work and Doug booked me a flight while I drove home to pack. Three hours later, I landed in Phoenix when I found out that they were taking her from Urgent Care to the ER in an ambulance. I had never been more thankful to be going home.

So now I'm here and working on getting her healthy again! I bought a one-way ticket, so I have no clue when I'll be back in Cali. It all depends on which kind of treatment they decide on. I really miss my sweet hubby and furbabies, but it sure does feel good to be home sweet home :)

Happy Birthday Pep!

My little Pepper Pie is turning 5 today!

This cake is from his 1st birthday party....yes, I threw my cat a birthday party. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a Crazy Cat Lady

A few of my favorite pictures of Mr. Pepper...

Happy Birthday little Pep Pep! I can't wait to spoil you tonight with canned food and treats :) We love you!

The Happiest Place on Earth

Last weekend Doug and I joined our friends from Georgia, Jeremy and Emily, for UGA Day at Disneyland! The Alumni Association out here is always organizing fun events, and we were so excited to finally experience the wonder that is Disneyland (especially since it's 15 minutes from our house!) It did not disappoint!

I am NOT a fan of the Tea Cups! Ugh.

But we LOVED the Buzz ride! As you can see by our intense looks of concentration, we're a little competitive :)

UGA was gracious enough to host a free luncheon for us! BBQ chicken, ribs, baked beans, cole slaw, and cornbread....it felt just like home!

At the end of the day, we agreed that the best ride was Space Mountain. I almost didn't go on it because I was afraid it would make me sick (plus I always think about Ross from FRIENDS....HA!), but it was SO. MUCH. FUN!

Sea World, Padres Game, and Gaslamp District

Last Saturday, Doug and I headed down to San Diego for the day and we made sure to pack it full of all that San Diego has to offer!

We started it off at Sea World, met up with our friends Jeremy and Emily to catch a Padres game, and ended the night strolling around the Gaslamp District.

I absolutely loooooooved Sea World. As y'all know, I am obsessed with animals and this place was basically paradise for me. I was surrounded by cute, happy animals and that just makes me one happy girl! The shows were definitely my favorite part, so if you go, make sure to see as many as possible!

I have decided that I want a sea lion. They are like one big hunk of love, and I just want to squeeze one! Of course, we would need a sea otter side kick as well.

I really can't decide which show was my favorite, but the Pets Rule! show was pretty darn adorable. I could not fathom how they trained dogs, cats, pigs, kangaroos, ducks, birds, etc.

The sea lion feeding area was probably my favorite place....they bark at you until you give them fish!

This was seriously the best dessert I've ever had. I have a slight obsession with chocolate and mint, and this brownie sundae was the perfect finish to the night!
