Monday Ramblings

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Ours was a little more relaxed and we needed it. 

On Saturday, our friends from Georgia came over! Jeremy was Doug's roommate in college and he's now in the Navy stationed in San Diego with his wife, Emily. We were SO happy to see some familiar Georgia faces! 

Maisy loved having company and greeted them by standing on them. 

We were SO HAPPY that UGA beat Florida! GO DAWGS! 

Later that night, I finally got around to drilling my second pumpkin. I decided to do polka-dots for this and loved how it turned out. And after gutting it, it literally took 5 minutes. So easy!

Other things:

-I bought my Breaking Dawn tickets a couple weeks ago......SO. EXCITED. I'm going home to Atlanta a few days early for Thanksgiving so my mom and I can go to the midnight show together!

-Allison, Sarah, and Amanda gave me the Liebster Blog award! Thank y'all so much!!

-I just started watching How I Met Your Mother and I kind of love it. I've only been watching reruns, since they come on every channel pretty much all the time, so I have no idea what's happening when. But my favorite so far of Ted's girlfriends is Victoria. I'm hoping she comes back. And Robin kind of annoys me. But Lily and Marshall are ADORABLE! 

-We are so excited for Halloween tonight! This is our first time living in a neighborhood for it, so I hope we get lots of trick-or-treaters! We definitely bought enough candy for the whole neighborhood.

Monday Ramblings

-Jess gave me the Liebster Blog award! Thanks so much, Jess!

-I got a new iPhone cover this weekend, and I can't stop staring at it. It just makes me so happy! It's Kate Spade, and I realized this is my first ever designer purchase....I've never been into big names when it comes to clothes, shoes, purses, etc. I usually choose cheap :) But this was too cute to pass up!

-For all you non-blogger readers, I added a subscribe option at the top of the sidebar. You can subscribe by email to be notified each time I post. Mom, this is mainly for you :)

-Carpal Tunnel is a real thing. For the past week, I've been working on a big project on my computer and now I can't bend my thumb. Ouch.

-Doug, Maisy, and I did a race yesterday! We went to Race for the Rescues at the Rose Bowl, and I even met a celebrity :) There will be a full post on this soon!

-Doug and I finally finished the house (well, we still have to take all of our boxes to be recycled, but that can wait!) so we have been exploring more of this beautiful state. We went to Fashion Island and Balboa Island on Saturday...they were both amazing! I think Balboa Island may be my new favorite place out here...next time I go, I'll remember to bring my camera!

Now my thoughts on TV this season.
-Revenge is my favorite new show this year. SO. GOOD.
-Glee airs a couple episodes then takes a break until November!? What the heck!? I want more.
-Grey's is killing me with MerDer's problems. I want them to get Zola back and live happily ever after. I don't think that's too much to ask.
-Once Upon a Time was pretty good last night! I love Ginnifer Goodwin. It's officially on the DVR now.
-The Walking Dead is amazing once again. But I don't think it's good for my health...by the end of the episode, my heart is racing!
-Doug and I think The Office is better this season than it has been in a while....well, we thought that until the latest episode...that one kind of struggled.
-Did anyone watch Gene Simmons Family Jewels: The Wedding? Doug thought I was a little crazy for crying so much through it. It was so emotional! The marriage boot camp? Killed me. I am happy they are married and hope Gene keeps his word!

-This face is begging for some love, so I think that's enough rambling for now.

Monday Ramblings

I'm back! I had the best time at home...and a little recap of my trip will be coming soon. Until then, here's what's been going on with me.

• Mamaw's surgery went so great! Seriously, not even 2 hours after her surgery, she looked/sounded/acted like nothing had happened! She rocked it. The doctor said they didn't see any 'suspicious activity' in her lymph nodes, and they think she will need radiation, not chemo, which is good news. She meets with them this week to find out all of the results of the surgery. Thank you all for the prayers! 

• While I was home, I figured out what I would ask for for Christmas- a Keurig. I have never been great at making coffee, and this seems pretty idiot-proof. I was so excited about it and kept talking about all of the flavors I would get. Well last night, Doug told me he found a box that we hadn't unpacked yet and it had my name on it, so I opened it to find this!

He's so sneaky! I was THRILLED and woke up bright and early this morning to try it out. I had Kahlua flavored coffee, and it was delish. I think he understood my excitement after the 8th time I shouted out, "THIS IS SO COOL!"   And I've already had 3 cups...

• A couple weeks ago, I won my first giveaway!! I don't enter many giveaways unless I really, really like it and I was so happy when I won Ashley's giveaway of the My Memories Scrapbook Software. It will definitely come in handy for a project I'm working on :)

• My sweet blog friend, Stephanie, gave me an award! Thanks girl! Stephanie and her hubby just moved to New Orleans, and I cannot wait to read all about their new life there!

• Doug and I found our church yesterday! I was SO happy that it is exactly like my church in college. I prefer very contemporary services, especially for music. I got pretty emotional during worship and had tears streaming down my face...I think I was just so happy that we found somewhere we could get involved and grow together. It's been hard not knowing anyone or anything out here, so this is definitely an answered prayer.

• I finally caved and joined Pinterest! And? I love it. I'm not quite as addicted as I thought I would be, which is a very good thing. I already have too many websites taking up my time! You can find me here. These are a few of my favorite things pins: (Sound of Music, anyone? :)

Friday Ramblings

• I am exhausted from unpacking and organizing. I'd say we have maybe half of the house done....not including wall decor and curtains. I'm too afraid to even start on that stuff yet!

• My sweet friend, Heather from Notes from the Nelsons, gave me a blog award! Heather is literally, the nicest person I know. Whenever my mom and I meet someone super sweet, we always say, "she's like a Heather!" Heather is semi-new to the blog world and is already a pro! Go say hello!

• I recently read Heaven is for Real and I looooooooved it. I had goosebumps the entire time! 

• I love Adele. I tuned into the VMAs on Sunday night and was a little disappointed by it. But then Adele sang and blew me away! She is so classy and obviously, extremely talented. 

• You know what really, really sucks? When you've wanted to meet your best blog friend for a year now, she is finally coming to visit, and you will be out of town! That's right....my good friend, Brittany, from Blogging Out Loud, is coming to visit her brother in California (about 45 minutes away from me) and I will be in Atlanta! Ugh! Again, Brittany's is another blog I'd highly recommend. She is easily the funniest person in blogland....go check her out!

• Did anyone else see the Pretty Little Liars finale? I L-O-V-E this show. I can't believe we know who the killers are now! But I reeeeeally just want to know who A is! Any guesses? I think it's Noel.

• Guess what! I exercised! It has happened once so far, but I'm optimistic that it could happen again soon. Doug asked me to teach him how to swim (I should clarify that he knows how to 'swim', he just needs help with all the technicalities, like breathing correctly, so he can do laps) So we went to our neighborhood pool the other night and I honestly don't know the last time I laughed that hard. Let's just say he makes some hilarious faces while he is swimming gasping for air and I plan on bringing my camera next time. You're welcome.

Ice Ice Baby & an Award

We are still snowed/iced in! It's Snow Day #3 and it may stay frozen until the weekend. Hopefully we will still be able to get our furniture in on Saturday! I am enjoying the time and getting everything organized, but Doug is going a little crazy! He has major cabin fever and sometimes seems like a kid who is stuck inside during recess. If only I had my camera while he was dancing to Glee last night. Ha!

1. I have lived in Georgia all of my life and I absolutely love it!

2. Until I was a senior in high school, I really only ate chicken fingers. I was obsessed! And they are still one of my favorite foods.

4. I don't exercise. I'm lucky to have a pretty good metabolism, and I'm just enjoying it while I have it, because I know eventually I will have to work out!

6. I don't watch scary movies or go to haunted houses. If I do, I can't sleep.

7. I am a girly girl, but I do have some weird boyish tendencies, like I enjoy building things and power tools. However, my tools are pink :)
