Living Room Makeover

After we finished the dining room, we realized the living room needed to coordinate! {This was actually my plan all along, but for the sake of my parents' sanity, I had to slowly string them along :) } The only thing that stayed in the room was the piano...I wanted to paint it black, but they weren't too keen on that idea! The room is kind of awkward because the windows are off-centered, but we found a few things to help fill the gaps.

Before:
(really terrible picture + was in the process of adding/removing stuff + cover on couch for pet hair)

After:
Furniture & Rug: Rooms to Go
I am DYING for these tables, but Rooms to Go doesn't deliver all the way out to California :(
Lamps: Target

Books: Used Bookstore   Hourglass: Kohls

Pillows: Rooms to Go

Star: Hobby Lobby

Curtains: Target

Hurricane vase: Target   Candle: Kohls

Birdcage: Homegoods   Candlesticks: Target

Plant: Hobby Lobby (I painted the pot black)

Picture: Hobby Lobby  Large frame: Walmart

Lamp: Walmart ($10!!)

Journal: A sweet gift from my mom's friend, Carolyn!

Ellie the Elephant: Old Time Pottery (We LOVE her)

Mirror: Homegoods

That's all the room makeovers for now....until my next trip home!

Just kidding, Dad! ;)

Wow. You did an amazing job on both rooms. What were the total costs for both rooms? Just curious. Want to come to PA and do one of my rooms? ;)

The room looks awesome - so much "cleaner" looking. I love neutrals in homes so much! I'll admit though that I let out a little yelp at the idea of painting a piano. EEEEEK, JULIE! I've played for years and won't even touch anything but the keys because I don't even want fingerprints on the piano, so I couldn't imagine painting it!! Minor panic attack there. haha.

Wow, that looks great. When you get done with your house how about you just swing on over to Louisiana and do mine. :)

These makeover posts seriously blow my mind. You have SUCH amazing taste...that literally looks like a magazine picture. You have a serious talent - you need to get paid to do this!

I'm moving into an apartment next month and have the decorating skills of a 12-year-old boy. I wish you could help me!
