We Have a Mantle!

First, I wanted to thank y'all for your sweet comments on my post yesterday! I was so glad to hear I'm not the only one who reacts like that. I feel a little less crazy now :) 
And, I've been a little absent from reading and commenting this week because I've been re-reading Breaking Dawn before the midnight premiere on Thursday! But I'm almost done so you'll be hearing from me soon :)

So in my living room post, I mentioned how our fireplace doesn't have a mantle and that our stockings will have no place to hang! Well, Amanda's comment basically saved Christmas...

Seriously...how did I not think of this!? It's GENIUS, Amanda! :)

So the fireplace went from this:

SO MUCH BETTER!

The shelf is from Pottery Barn, and I realized I had a gift card from our wedding, so it was almost free!

Now we'll be able to enjoy lots of stocking candy :)

Separation Anxiety

Y'all will probably laugh at me for this post and think I'm more crazy than you thought, but maybe a few of you can relate.

I have MAJOR separation anxiety going on right now. I leave for Atlanta on Thursday, and Doug joins me next Tuesday. That means, Maisy and Pep will be here. Without us. Cue the hysterics.

This is my first time leaving them with anyone besides our parents. Luckily, our neighbors are just about the nicest people you'll ever meet, and they are taking care of our babies. But still, I am a mess over this!

Maisy has what they call an "emotional stomach" (it's common with boxers) and if she gets upset emotionally, it makes her sick to her stomach. When we first adopted her, she was in a new place with new people, and she was sick for the first few days. When I came back from our first trip to California, she was SO EXCITED to see me....then I went out to a movie later that night, leaving her for a couple hours, and we came back to one sick puppy. She thought I was leaving her again.

So I am terrified that this will happen while we're gone. I've imagined basically anything that could go wrong, and that's definitely not helping my nerves!

Thankfully, my sweet neighbor said I could call everyday to check on them :)

Lord help me when I actually have human children! Those poor kids will never leave my side!

Weekend Recap

This weekend may have been my favorite in California so far. Our Georgia friends, Jeremy and Emily, came over for another UGA game on Saturday. Again, Maisy welcomed them into our home by standing on them.

Georgia was AMAZING and beat Auburn 45-7! After last year's dirty-played game by Auburn, it was so fun to crush them this year! GO DAWGS! If we beat Kentucky this weekend, we're headed to the SEC Championship! 

After the game, we tried out our new fire pit in the backyard. 

We drank coffee and beer and made s'mores.

And we brought out the computer to watch even more football....what Saturdays in the fall are made for.

It was a perfect day.

On Sunday, I drove down to San Diego for another SoCal Blogger Meet-up! It was AMAZING and I want to dedicate a whole post to it, once the photographer (yeah...that's how legit it was...there was a photographer!) posts her pictures of it, because they will be a lot better than my iPhone pics.
