Vegas Advice

Have you been to Las Vegas before? If so, I need your help!

As y'all know, Doug and I are headed to Vegas this weekend. He's been there before, but this is my first time! This trip is all I wanted for my birthday, including Celine Dion tickets. Well, we planned our trip around her, and I was SO EXCITED to finally see the lady I've loved since the 3rd grade!

Then last week, I received this email and my heart sank:

So that's where I need y'all's advice. Now that our beloved show has been canceled, I'm open to seeing something else. But, I know they are pricey and I don't want to drop a lot of money if it isn't worth it!

And one more question- what should I pack!? I have no idea what to wear!

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have for me!

I'm sorry honey, but you'll have a great time anyway. When we went it was company sponsered and they had private shows lined up for us so I'm no help there. Perhaps ask the hotel concierge what they suggest?

As far as clothing you will see equally dressed up and casual people. I suggest a comfortable dress that could be dressed up and as comfortable shoes as you can get by with. We did lots of walking.

Enjoy your trip! I ended every night with a glass of champagne watching the Bellagio fountains :)

Oh, no! Why did it get cancelled?! We are hoping to see her in Vegas in August, but it will be my first trip too-- so no advice here, sorry!!

You should see V the Ultimate Variety Show at Planet Hollywood. It is so good (and is family friendly which was was important to me and my hubs). Hope you have a great time!

We always see a Cirque show when we go and always love them. O or Zumanity were amazing. :)

Oh no! What a bummer:( You will still have a great time. Vegas is an interesting city to say the least. We went to Crazy Horse at the MGM, I think. It was a burlesque show. We loved it. A few places on the strip have TKTS type booths for discounted tickets if you are unsure about what you want to do. Cirque shows are always amazing too! Where are you staying?

...also, I've heard helicopter tours of the Grand Canyon are amazing.

Oh no! Sorry to hear Celine Dion was cancelled but there are still plenty of things to see and do in Vegas. I've seen 3 Cirque du Soleil shows there, and they're all great but I think Mystere was our favorite. O is great too, but I'd recommend splurging in good seats so you're not in the balcony there. The tickets can be pricey, but the shows are great!

Also google the website 'Tix 4 Tonight' they sometimes have last minute deals for decent shows.

Someone already recommended watching the fountains at Bellagio. That's a must see... plus it's free!

You can wear whatever you want in Vegas... you'll see everything from Nascar t shirts to people dressed to the nines! You MUST take comfortable shoes though, because there's a lot of walking involved. (:

Enjoy your trip to Vegas!

Any Cirque du Soleil show!! If you're staying at a hotel that is home to one, you can get reduced price day-of tickets if they're available. We did this for Zumanity at NY NY and got really good seats for next to nothing. "O" (their water show) was by far my favorite Cirque show, but I might be biased being a scuba diving water lover ; )

I live just a couple hours away from Vegas! We love going down all the time! Definitely see a Cirque du soleil show! There are ticket booths all over the strip that you can go to (the morning of the day you want to see the show) and they are discounted! But they could sell out of tickets... so its up to you if you want to take the chances!

Oh my gosh! I would be SOOO upset! I'm sorry. :(

There is a little bit of good news, though. You can't have a bad time in Vegas!! There are tons of great shows, but I would HIGHLY recommend all of the Cirque du Soleil shows.

I'm obsessed with Elvis and I loved the Elvis Cirque show in the Aria, but I can honestly say that the Beatles' Love Cirque show is one of the best shows I've ever seen. Anywhere. It is TOTALLY worth the money. I would go again in a heartbeat. If you even remotely like the Beatles, you will LOVE the show.

I can't wait to see all your pictures!!!
