So today kind of sucked. I woke up to Maisy throwing up. Poor thing hasn't thrown up since we moved here, so I was pretty worried about her all day (She is feeling much better now!) I went to work, where I got a call from my doctor. I had an ultrasound done on Monday to make sure everything was okay with my birth control, and she gave me news I was not expecting- there is a cyst on my ovary.
Apparently it is a blood-filled cyst, which is relatively common, but could also mean that I have endometriosis. Of course, I started googling it and that led to me being really freaked out. Infertility has always been my biggest fear. Being a mom is what I've always dreamt of, and the possibility of having problems with that honestly just terrifies me. And apparently endometriosis is linked with infertility. The main symptom of endometriosis is pelvic pain, and I've always had terrible cramps that have recently been more frequent. So that worries me, too.
Clearly, I don't know much about it other than what Google has told me, so that's why I'm writing this. I'm hoping someone reading this can tell me more about it, whether they have it or know someone who does. I go back for another ultrasound in 6 weeks, so I won't really know any more until they see if the cyst is gone.
I really appreciate any info y'all can give me. I'm trying to be optimistic and keep calm for the next 6 weeks. Easier said than done, I guess!
